Toronto, August 18, 2009 �� Subsequent to its press release of July 27, 2009, Hawk Uranium Inc. (TSX-V:HUI, FRANKFURT:HPM) (“Hawk���) has determined that it will not proceed with the acquisition of the mineral claims in San Bernardo, Sonora, Mexico (the “Claims���) referenced in that press release.

Since announcing its intention to acquire the Claims, additional due diligence revealed that certain governmental payments are in arrears, and there remained additional questions regarding past geological programs and results. Hawk’s decision not to proceed with this acquisition therefore was based on this due diligence and concerns relating to the likelihood of being able to conclude a formal, binding and effective option agreement with the parties involved on terms that are acceptable to Hawk and satisfactory under TSX Venture Exchange policies. Hawk has not issued any shares as payment for the acquisition of the Claims.
