Toronto, (February 4th, 2009) - African Aura Resources Ltd. ("African Aura" or the "Company", TSX-V: AAZ), an exploration company with gold, iron ore and uranium exploration activities in sub-Saharan Africa, announces that it has received further encouraging intersections from the Company's 100% owned Batouri gold project in eastern Cameroon.

Drilling includes 35.1g/t over 1m, 10.0g/t over 2.5m and 2.3g/t over 6m
Results confirm presence of a significant gold system
55 holes completed at Batouri to date for a total of 5,671m
Phase II 5,000m diamond drilling resource programme commenced

Kambele Gold Prospect

Results have been received from 11 holes drilled on the Kambele -- Dem trend drilled in November - December 2008 (Table 1 and Map HERE)

Intersections are based on a 0.5 g/t cut-off grade with no top cut applied.

Phase Two drill programme at Kambele

A Phase II drilling programme has commenced employing both of the Company's in-house owned and operated diamond drill rigs. As previously announced the programme will focus on systematically testing "Kambele South" which is the area of most intense artisanal gold mining and from where the best drilling results have been received to date. An initial nine holes will be drilled to step out from the known mineralisation followed by infill of up to 30 drill holes to depths of 110m across 5 fences to potentially define an initial resource estimate for this zone.

Subject to results from this stage of drilling, the core of the 3.5km strike length of the Kambele -- Dem trend to the north-east will be drill-tested with fences at 200m spaced intervals across the trend.

Dimako Gold Prospect

Dimako is located 7km to the southwest of Kambele, and is the southern section of a 3.5km long north-south structure on which extensive hard rock artisanal pitting has occurred on high grade gold mineralised quartz veins to depths of 20m. To date, 17 holes have been completed at Dimako totalling 1,505m. Previously announced drilling results from Dimako include 12.98g/t gold over 2.4m, and 16.44g/t gold over 1.10m. A recent follow up drill hole has returned 2.82g/t over 1.14m.

Amndobi Gold Prospect

Exploration at Amndobi, located 8km northwest of Kambele, has indentified a 4.9km long prospect as defined by a +50ppb gold in soil contour. Assay results from five trenches of approximately 100m length and 2m depth across a 1,034m section of the prospect have returned grades that confirm the presence of a gold bearing structure. Further trenching will be undertaken on Amndobi in the course of 2009 to define potential drill targets (Table 2).
