TORCH RIVER REPORTS 158 METERS OF MOLY AT 0.148% Mo

Torch River Resources Ltd (?Torch?) (TSX-V: TCR) (FRANKFURT: WNF) (U.S. pink sheets: TORVF)  is pleased to announce further drill results in its 2008 program on  its Red Bird molybdenum/copper/rhenium  property in British Columbia.  DDH 149 and DDH 151 are located 258 meters east of, 125 meters north of, and 101 meters higher in elevation in relation to recently reported DDH 08-RB-156.  Both holes contain disseminated and fracture filling molybdenite associated with quartz stockwork and K-spar/kaolinite alteration which is hosted in quartz monzonite porphyry.  The bottom of DDH 149 ended in hornfels andesitic tuff/flow with increased copper.    A sixteen hole program with a total of 5,000 meters of drilling has now been completed on Red Bird in 2008 with eleven holes remaining to be reported.

The results of assays on the diamond drill holes (DDH) are as follows:

                           DDH 149 ended in mineralization (mostly copper) at 262 meters depth

                           DDH 151 ended in mineralization at 294.13 meters depth

DDH 159 was drilled 200 meters east of DDH 08-RB-156.

                           DDH 159 ended in mineralization at 212.6 meters depth

     Note:  Equivalent molybdenum percentages were calculated using prices of $33 and $3.10 per                      

                pound of molybdenum (Mo) and copper (Cu) respectively.

Torch is very encouraged by the results of these three holes in its 2008 program and will report further results as they become available. Other holes in the program further tested these areas of the Main Zone and also parts of the Southeast and Southwest Zones. Torch is interested in the potential of high grade sub-zones of the Main Zone as they might relate to a possible starter pit for future production and also the potential for high grade underground resources.
