NEW CANTECH VENTURES
INC.
UPDATE ON CANTECHS IXL
PROPERTY EXPLORATION
April 30, 2007
New Cantech Ventures Inc. (Cantech) (TSXV:NCV, FSE:C7X) and Cougar
Minerals Corp. (Cougar) (CNQ:COUG) have recently completed an AeroTEM
helicopter-borne geophysical survey over their 50/50 jointly-owned IXL property,
located 55 kilometers north of Grand Forks, in southern British Columbia,
Canada.
The AeroTEM survey was successful in outlining a strong,
750 meter long EM anomaly in the eastern part of the property. The southernmost part of the EM anomaly
coincides with a known area of mineralization (the Jack Showing). During the 2005 work program on the property,
disseminated and poddy stratabound sphalerite, galena and chalcopyrite was
discovered within calcareous sediments at the Jack showing. Select grab samples collected had values
ranging to a maximum of 8.84% Zn, 3.87% Pb, 1.19% Cu, 1910 ppb Au and 84.1 ppm
Ag, as listed below.

Mineralization occurs on a
steep east-northeast facing slope and has been traced on-strike, intermittently
in float and outcrop, for 300 meters (of which the northernmost 100 meters
coincides with the southern portion of the EM anomaly). Outcrop is limited and neither the extent
nor the true width of the mineralization are known.
The AeroTEM anomaly trends
parallel to stratigraphy and extends 650 meters northwest from the area of known
mineralization. No trenching or
drilling has been done at the Jack showing or in the area of the AeroTEM anomaly. Additional
prospecting,
as well as geological mapping and modelling of the geophysical anomaly will
begin shortly, to define targets for drill testing during
2007.
