Atomic Submits Notice of Intent to Initiate Exploration and Drilling on 3 Phases of Dolores Anticline, Colorado
Vancouver, BC - September 25, 2007 - Atomic Minerals Ltd. (TSX-V: ATL) ("Atomic" or the "Company") is pleased to announce that it has filed its Notice of Intent ("NOI") to conduct exploration activities for the Summit Point and Box Canyon Exploration Projects in San Miguel County, Colorado. These activities are to include, but are not limited to: preparing and clearing roads, building of 13 100-foot by100-foot drill pads, the drilling of up to 13 drill holes to a depth of 2500 feet, and reclamation and fill-in of those drill holes.
The NOI was prepared by Gault Group Inc. ("Gault Group") of Phoenix, Arizona. It included an archaeological survey completed by Western Archaeological Services, with findings recommending an archaeological clearance for the project. Gault Group personnel conducted personal interviews with Dolores County Public Lands staff and a wildlife biologist review of any and all impact to federally-li
sted endangered, threatened and candidate species as well as any Bureau of Lands & Mines ("BLM") sensitive species. Findings show that the majority of drill sites are located in open sage brush. Care has been taken to locate proposed drill sites in previously disturbed areas with minimal impact.
Atomic President and CEO Warren McIntyre said "The Notice of Intent is just part of the process in the underground exploration of the potential of the Dolores Anticline. Currently, we are on schedule to mobilize drill operations for mid-October. We have collected the recommendations from both the Technical Report written by Cady Johnson and from the ground mapping and geophysical work by our Vice-President-Exploration, Richard Dorman and one of our geologists, John Cowan, and implemented them into a strategic drilling and exploration program for the next 60 days."
The Dolores Anticline is located only 30 miles from Lisbon Valley and is also
within the Uravan Mineral Belt. Economically important amounts of uranium have been produced from the Salt Wash Member of the Morrison Formation of Late Jurassic Age, and the Moss Back Member of the Late Triassic Chinle Formation in and near the Uravan Mineral Belt in San Miguel, Montrose and Dolores Counties, Colorado (United States Geological Survey 1968, Daniel R. Shawe, Denver, Colorado). Additionally, the Dolores Anticline was drilled by both Hunt Oil and Newmont in the 1970s. Drill logs from this wide-spaced drilling indicate that the favorable Moss Back Member of the Chinle Formation is present in the area. The Dolores Anticline is one of the last salt anticlines in the Paradox Basin which has not been extensively drilled to explore for mineralization in the Moss Back Member of the Chinle Formation. Field investigations have confirmed the presence of favourable environments within the Moss Back Member of the Chinle Formation along the Dol
ores River Canyon which transects the Dolores Anticline.
Atomic also has a letter of intent, which was announced in Atomic's news release dated July 25, 2007, with Geo Can Resources Company Ltd. to enter into an option agreement to earn the right to acquire up to a 90% interest in a land package totalling approximately 2800 square kilometres located in the southwestern portion of the United Republic of Tanzania (the "Property"). The Property is considered to be part of the Malawi Extension based on the location of the Property relative to blocks earmarked as potentially favourable for uranium enrichment. Historical Airborne Radiometric surveys over Tanzania (done by GeoSurvey International) have provided useful data regarding the area. Other mining companies exploring in the area include Paladin Resources (Malawi), Denison Mines and Western Metals (both in Tanzania).
