I often trying to explain that all government debts are illusion, but I viewed like an old Hippy that didn't evoluate with his time. I explain people that our problem is not the underfinancing of the social distribution of the wealth, the problem we occur now is the monetary system. I give them the example of gas; when I was a kid the coins were made of silver, so a dime had an intrinsic value of 10 cents. A gallon of gas had a value of 40 cents, so you could buy a litre of gas for a dime. Today in Canada, a litre of gas is worth 1.40$, and a dime, made of silver, has an intrinsic value of around 1.70$ today, and can still get you a litre of gas. An other example I tell is when I was a kid, I was buying cigarettes for my father for 52 cents a pack of 25, so two silver quarters. Today I pay my pack of cigarettes 7.80$ and the two quarters of my youth, made of silver, has a value today of around 8.70$, so again I have my pack of cigarettes for the same two quarters. So I explain that prices are going up, it is the money that is worth a lot less.
