At a high enough price, there will be no physical silver shortage for delivery. There are hundreds of thousands of tons of silver above ground.

Now could JPM find it difficult to lay their hands on enough to cover a big delivery? At a modest loss, yes. But no problem with a large loss.

I will agree that once it happens, we will enter a brave new world. I'm not so sure about people flocking to silver though.
Human nature will cause folks to hang on to equities and treasuries until they are plummeting. While at the same time, silver and gold will be rising. A seller needs a buyer with money. And we can forget about buying on margin.

And obviously the Senate still doesn't get it. If a business is TBTF, then it surely will.
It is a matter of entropy. Make it big enough, complex enough and energy demanding and you are guaranteed the failure will always be spectacular.
