Can we then assume that if the depositor is a foreigner, it is okay to steal (okay, threaten to steal) their money out of the bank and the local are just collateral damage?

I seem to recall all the high priests and priestesses of economics stating everyone needed to spend money.

Perhaps the Cyprus fix is already in.

People worry and rather than keep what little they have left in their savings/checking account, they begin spending on tangibles.

Once you start with a false assumption, you will never see all the possibilities. Assume nothing, question everything.

The Dow did indeed fall yesterday — by nearly 100 points — raising the question of when a drift would officially become a rout. Not yet, for sure.
