The Austrian School is wonderfully rational. But what on earth makes you think that the object of the power elite or even government oligarchs is to protect and maintain peoples' freedom and economic well-being. It is exactly the opposite. They have embraced the "China Model" - totalitarianism; elimination of the middle class; all regulation, enforcement & penalties waived for them; and automatic socialization of their debts when they screw up. Fiat money, printed like crazy, along with the other components of the so-called neo-liberal school - ergo world government with them in charge - would not be possible under the methodologies of the Austrian School. For the rich and, therefore, powerful, the irrational is rational.
