Admittedly I am just a curious bystander when it comes to the futures markets. However I see a problem here.

Why would someone pay a premium for leased gold today over what they would pay a month from now? The only answer that makes sense is they are facing a redemption and lack the gold to deliver. What's gonna happen next month? Do anyone think physical gold available for delivery will drop even further below the cost of production next month? What about six months from now?

It is said that when prices drop, the merchandise moves to stronger hands. Seems to me that there are a lot of stronger hands standing in line already.

Western bullion banks have physical gold remaining in their vaults? I've hear ducks fart underwater before and they all sound the same.

Remind me to never loan them my lawnmower or else I'll probably have to re-buy it off of craigslist and at a premium to boot.
