Increasing the money supply is market manipulation.
Ergo there are but two effectors: market manipulation and propaganda.

The Reganesque "trickle-down economic concept" only works if the wealthy are buying domestically produced goods and services.
BUT the wealthy must feel secure in their wealth. Hence propaganda for them through alternative media: the paid investor's subscriptions are an example.
"Times are tough ... I ain't got enough ... to buy me a bottle of wine."

For the general masses, the financial news MUST be massaged.
We don't want to panic the herd and see them stampede.
They will destroy everything because they can only produce offspring. They don't and can't produce wealth.
Like locusts, they consume everything in their path and are perpetually hungry.
And in the end, they'll consume themselves.

Yah, we ain't seen nothing yet.

Might I suggest for your week-end reading an old and fairly short book. You can find it on the web in downloadable form.
"The Richest Man in Babylon", George S. Clason
It should be required reading for all 7th graders. But the NEA and the democratic party would mess their britches. Aw crap I gotta be intellectually honest, the republicans would probably wet themselves too.
