Well, what did you think was gonna happen?
We bailed out the banks, but did nothing about the insurance companies' losses.

Insurance companies don't have a cookie jar holding all the paid premiums just sitting there waiting for a claim.
The money is invested in a plethora of financial devices.
Now consider that beaucoup pension plans are managed by either insurance companies directly or through a subsidiary.
It is easy to see that the great leveler of 2008 probably resulted in an insurance company solvency problem.

Welcome to the great insurance company bail-in to protect pension plans.
Gotta do whatever we must to get that union vote, eh?

Here is classic evidence that the people don't want freedom, but rather security.

P.S. Anyone consider how this PPACA will affect the trade in residuals?
