>The Latest Excuse To Abolish Our Freedom  - Michael S. Rozeff - Lew Rockwell
I note with more than a bit of displeasure that you use the term utilitarianism rather the the correct term Communitarianism.

Under Communitarianism, all people, their belongings and their mental facilities are considered community assets. Each community has a group of managers that decide the best use of these assets and proscribes the state of individual action.

Under Communitarianism, best use is decided by a small group and individual action is initially met with intense social pressure to submit to authority.
This authority is of dubious parentage and is tacitly supported by the non-action of the general populace.

The Communitarians claim the right to manage and dispose of all community assets. The courts tend to support these actions. The term community includes whatever the management decides. Nothing is an asset until it is owned. And everything the management does is for the community's own good. After all, enlightenment only comes to the few and with it selflessness in service. Now might be an appropriate time to bow before these saviors.

Communitarianism is one of the evil spawn of the UN Local Agenda 21.

I support the Anti-Communitarian League. They have been fighting this beast far longer than you have acknowledged its existence. They wrote the book on the evil of Communitarianism while the Libertarians and John Birch Society sat on the sidelines. And now both these groups trot it out with a new coat of paint (termed utilitarianism) and claim the research as their own.

And now you use a movie review to trot out Communitarianism under the guise of being utilitarianism. Communitarians take whatever they want (everything is an community asset and community is whatever the Communitarians claim it is). I've heard the line of BS about this being too important to be one group's asset. I've heard the line that everyone already knew this. I've heard ducks fart underwater and they all sound the same.

Give credit where credit is due.

BTW. A new edition is out, but my copy of "2020, Our common Destiny" was first printed March 2006 and "The Anti-Communitarian Manifesto" was first printed in October 2008. Don'cha find it a bit odd that nobody had anything in print before these? If you use someone else's research without acknowledging the source, isn't that plagiarism? But Communitarians would just claim it as a community asset and far too important for one group to be the lead opposition especially when income and honors are concerned. I have no problem calling thieves thieves.

I'll leave you with these thoughts. Individualism is the greatest threat to Communitarianism. Individual action is the manifestation of a sovereign entity. Do your own research and make up your own mind. Uhhh, sounds like due diligence to me.

"The Latest Excuse To Abolish Our Freedom ". Latest indeed. The only thing late is you acknowledging it and it took a California Overhaul* to get this much.

*California Overhaul, slapping a coat of paint on something to give the impression that it has been repaired, rebuilt, or re-manufactured. Would a rose by any other name smell as sweet?

It’s a crime drama that introduces a deep question in a way that anyone can understand: Is forcible utilitarianism right or wrong? This article will contain a spoiler, because I am going to discuss the theme of “The Tall Man”, and I can’t do it without revealing the plot. If you are a movie-goer, watch the movie without reading reviews and reading this article. It’s a good, suspenseful and twisty movie. You will probably be caught up in it. The... Lire la suite
