Gold? Even moreso. Hoe could it not given its link to the uber-dollar. Even if they only fiddled the futures, that would have had a negative effect on the spot price. Sadly, much like the illegal foreclosures because owners of MBS can't be found, the same would be true on any given day that people bough physical gold/silver on a given day. With the civil issue of reimbursement out of the way on bullion, then things can move to regulatory and criminal actions required. It had better happen because many buyers are foreign. While Prosac reallt seems to be working on Americans, I doubt that people around the world will all be as sanguine.
