Regardless of central banks,investors, speculators and "manipulators" I would suggest that that even though the current paper cost on an ounce of gold is about $600 USD away from a possible $1000, I think it far more likely that Gold will be $10,000 before it gets to $1000.

That said it is just my opinion, about which I am totally flexible, because I think it complete folly to make predictions if you are trading anything...after all anything is possible.
