It's not surprising at all. I can only speak of my LBMA UK knowledge and this is what it used to be:

•In UK spot and forward precious metals are not regulated
•Options are regulated products
•Most LBMA members are regulated by FSA

There have been so many essays about the paper and physical market, and until there is proper regulation this will go on, and I don't think the CB's or the BB's want any regulation, and as it is so opaque there will be manipulation or whatever you want to call it.

Maybe after the "biggest ever global crash" coming our way very soon we might get some honest regulations, but even then will we? I just think the CB/BB's will keep the status quo.
