>When Americans Understood the Declaration of Independence  - Tom DiLorenzo -
Lincoln couldn't give a hoot about slaves, the north had slaves the whole time he was championing the war to free the slaves in the south. If he was fighting to free the slaves then why not start at home by freeing those in the north? History shows that the slaves in the north were not freed till a year after the war ended. Lincoln was not the hero so many make him out to be. The war was fought because losing control of the south meant losing taxes. The north taxed items coming north but not going south. Pure and simple, cut through all the malarkey and the truth is laid bare.

The south may have fired the first shot, as in bullet, but the north had declared war long before that, the same type of war the US is now fighting on several fronts, financial war.

It's always easy to flow with the main line crap they feed kids in school but it takes little more moral fortitude to first of all notice inconsistencies and then dig to find the truth.

Dig Jim, dig! Your smart enough to know the mainline story is crap.
