>Correcting Antal Fekete's Historical Silver Errors  - David Morgan - Silver Investor
I have always known Professor Fekete as Professor Fekete my entire life. To me he shall always be édes apuka. A little history, with no references I am afraid, but lots of childhood memories. Some of the earliest of which, as a child of no more than two or three, being on Campus in my father's office in the Mathematics department on a Saturday morning while he finished off some work. Each new year of high school was always embarrassing in Math class when the Math teacher would inevitably say, "you must be Professor Fekete's daughter". Well, my father was a Professor an entire decade before I came on the scene, when he started teaching Mathematics at Memorial University of Newfoundland in the late 1950s, just a few short years after escaping Hungary during the revolution of 1956. He raised a family of five children, and he made sure we learned a thing or two about Precious Metals and Sound Money. I bet there are not many kids who would fill their hollow ceramic night lamp beside their beds with copper pennies! Born in 1932, my father witnessed and experience first hand "the most serious hyperinflation ever recorded." Ok, one reference: "The pengő (sometimes written as pengo or pengoe in English) was the currency of Hungary between 1 January 1927, when it replaced the korona, and 31 July 1946, when it was replaced by the forint. The pengő was subdivided into 100 fillér. Although the introduction of the pengő was part of a post-World War I stabilization program, the currency survived only for 20 years and experienced the most serious hyperinflation ever recorded. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hungarian_pengő. I grew up hearing so many stories of those times: as young children, my father and his sister inherited a house, which was sold and the funds placed in the bank till they came of age. When they were old enough, my father was able to buy himself a set of colouring pencils and his sister was able to purchase a pair of stockings with the money. When it came time to go to the dentist, my father recalls his mother pulling out a golden chain and clipping off a few golden links, as the dentist refused to accept paper money as payment. I have held that chain in my very hands as my father told us this story. My father turned 80 in December and has contributed much to the discussion of Precious Metals and Sound Money for almost 5 decades. I don't really need to count how many references and footnotes are missing or if it is his-story or her-story or the story. Professor Fekete is my father and I will always love him for who he is and what he has taught me from his first hand experience with worthless fiat currency and the true value of gold and silver.

Début de l'article :In "The Double Whammy of Geopolitical Gold Games reposted in February 2013 (from January 31, 2008) by Antal Fekete he stated some errors of fact! Marco Polo, guide us on this excursion to China! Bruce Lee, help our reflexes to be as fast as yours! May we not be slap happy like Jackie Chan! Wo Fat, do not mislead us! Antal mentioned China's silver money system going back to the 16th century, then stated" "CHINA'S EXTERNAL TRADE WAS INSIGNIFIC... Lire la suite
