LATHAM, N.Y. (AP) _ Plug Power Inc. (PLUG) on Tuesday reported a loss of $42.6 million in its second quarter.
The Latham, New York-based company said it had a loss of 19 cents per share. Losses, adjusted for non-recurring costs, came to 10 cents per share.
The results fell short of Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of five analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for a loss of 7 cents per share.
The alternative energy company posted revenue of $22.6 million in the period, also missing Street forecasts. Four analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $28.5 million.
The company's shares closed at $2.38. A year ago, they were trading at $1.71.
