Publié le 19 juin 2008

ASX AND MEDIA ANNOUNCEMENT

19 June 2008                                                                           ELS 76 2008

POWER EOI SUBMITTED TO ESKOM

Integrated energy company Aviva Corporation Limited (ASX:AVA, BSE:AVIVA) today announces it has submitted an Expression of Interest (EOI) for the provision of 1,000MW of baseload power production to Eskom, the South African state power utility.

On the 5 May 2008, Eskom issued a request for EOI?s for the provision of multiple baseload Independent Power Producers (IPP?s) to supply 2,100MW of power generation. The IPP?s must deliver a minimum of 400MW per project and commission between 2012 and 2017.

The Eskom EOI process is one of several commercial mechanisms under which an IPP utilising coal from the Mmamantswe project in Botswana can be established. Aviva will continue to investigate the other options while participating fully in the Eskom EOI process.

Expressions of interest from global IPP?s in regard to participation in the Mmamantswe IPP project have been received. The company is now confident the project scale, location and market conditions lends itself to the early entry of a joint development partner and will accelerate partnership discussions accordingly..

In the interim, the company is advancing all requisite activities for an early development decision at Mmamantswe.
