Exploration of High Grade Copper Target Commences
July 2, 2008
West Vancouver, British Columbia July 2, 2008 International Bethlehem Mining Corp. (the Company) is pleased to announce that is has received an exploration permit for its Steele Skarn copper property located on northern Vancouver Island, British Columbia.
Two field geologists are currently conducting a MAG survey, mapping and prospecting program on the Property. Upon completion, a program consisting of six (100 metre) excavator trenches will begin. As previously reported (see news release dated May 26, 2008), the exploration program is designed to test the width and continuity of high grade copper mineralization that was discovered and mapped in August 2007 by Brent Hemmingway, Geologist and vendor of the Property. The newly discovered mineralized skarn zone was mapped and measured to be approximately 11 metres wide. Three selected grab samples of the mineralization at the showing were assayed at Acme Laboratories of Vancouver (Acme) and returned values of 23.69% copper, 6.89% copper and 16.68% copper. Acmes analytical technique consisted of pulverizing and digesting a one gram sample in an aqua regia acid solution. The resulting solution was analysed by Inductively Coupled Plasma Emission Spectrometry (ICP). Samples running greater than the maximum value for standard ICP analysis were re-analysed by diluting the sample so that the ICP was capable of giving a more accurate reading.
If the trenching program yields positive results, a core drill program will be scheduled for later this year.
