AVIVA SUBMITS ESKOM RFQ PROPOSAL
Integrated energy developer Aviva Corporation Limited (ASX:AVA, BSE:AVIVA) has submitted a qualifying document in response to a Request For Qualification (RFQ) from Eskom for Independent Power Projects (IPP�s).
The qualifying document for a 1,000MW power plant based on the Mmmantswe coal project was prepared in conjunction with SUEZ-Tractebel SA who has provided a letter of support for the project. SUEZ-Tractebel SA is part of the GDF SUEZ group � a leading global energy provider.
Eskom, the South African power utility, requested proposals for the supply of up to 4,500MW from Independent Power Producers located in South Africa. The joint qualification document submitted proposes a 1,000MW power station located in either South Africa or Botswana. It is expected that Eskom will issue a Request for Proposal (RFP) within weeks.
Aviva will release a project update for the Mmamantswe project next week.
