4000m RC Drilling Program Commences at Korongou
Golden Rim Resources Ltd (Golden Rim; ASX: GMR) today announced that it has commenced a program of 4,000m of reverse circulation (RC) drilling which will be focussed on testing the significant new Guitorga gold anomaly at the Korongou Project in Burkina Faso (Figure 1).
The drilling program will comprise approximately 40 RC drill holes with an average depth of 100m per hole. It is envisaged the RC drilling program will take two months to be completed.
The Guitorga auger gold anomaly (>50 ppb gold) strikes for 3.5km and averages 0.4km in width. It remains open along strike to the NE and SW.
Many of the results from the Guitorga anomaly are high grade, with peak sample values including
8,126 ppb (8.1 g/t), 4,502 ppb (4.5 g/t), 1,989 ppb (2.0 g/t), 1,872 ppb (1.9 g/t) and 1,503 ppb
(1.5 g/t) gold.
Further infill auger drilling at 100m x 25m is underway over the Guitorga gold anomaly and is almost complete. The results of this sampling are likely to be used to refine the location of some the RC holes as the drilling progresses.
Golden Rim's Managing Director, Craig Mackay, said "We are excited to have successfully completed a A$1m fundraising that enables us to immediately commence a RC drilling campaign to test the substantial new gold auger anomaly at Guitorga. The majority of the Guitorga anomaly lies under 8 -10m of black soil cover so the RC drilling is the vital next step to determine if the anomalous auger results are related to significant and coherent zones of bedrock gold mineralisation."
