PITTSBURGH (AP) _ Horsehead Holding Corp. (ZINC) on Friday reported a loss of $3.6 million in its second quarter.
On a per-share basis, the Pittsburgh-based company said it had a loss of 6 cents. Losses, adjusted for non-recurring gains, were 22 cents per share.
The results exceeded Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of three analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for a loss of 27 cents per share.
The zinc producer posted revenue of $122.8 million in the period.
Horsehead shares have dropped 45 percent since the beginning of the year. The stock has dropped 56 percent in the last 12 months.
