Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc. (NYSE: TMO) announced today that it has
priced an offering of €425 million aggregate principal amount of 1.50%
senior notes due 2020 at an issue price of 99.971% of the principal
amount. The issuance of the notes is expected to close on or about
November 24, 2015, subject to customary closing conditions. The notes
will pay interest on an annual basis.
The company plans to use a portion of the net proceeds of the offering
to redeem all of the outstanding $400 million aggregate principal amount
of 3.50% senior notes issued by Life Technologies Corporation prior to
its acquisition by Thermo Fisher, which mature on January 15, 2016, and
the remainder for general corporate purposes.
The joint book-running managers for the offering are Deutsche Bank AG,
London Branch and HSBC Bank plc.
