A three-year partnership between LiveWell Australia and New Hope Group has culminated in the New Acland Mine Live Well, Work Well program being awarded the title of Best Workplace Health and Wellbeing Initiative at the Queensland Safe Work Awards.
New Hope Managing Director Shane Stephan said he was proud of the strong working relationship formed with Toowoomba-based LiveWell Australia and said its success has inspired New Hope to roll the program out across its operations.
'New Hope is committed to supporting local business and working with LiveWell Australia has allowed us to engage long-term with a great local company.
'We are beginning to take the Live Well, Work Well program to the rest of our operations and we are looking forward to growing our partnership with LiveWell Australia over the coming years,' he said.
LiveWell Australia CEO Jaden Frame said he was tremendously proud of the positive impact the partnership has had on the lives of New Acland employees and their families.
'We've worked hand in hand with New Hope to roll this program out and we've seen fantastic improvements to diets, exercise rates and understanding about health.
'Because LiveWell Australia is Toowoomba based, it gives New Acland employees access to health staff who are locals and who understand the unique factors that influence health in our area,' he said.
As well as receiving the title of Best Workplace Health and Wellbeing Initiative, the Live Well, Work Well program was also showcased at this year's Queensland Mining Industry Health and Safety Conference.
