CHANGZHOU, China (AP) _ Trina Solar Ltd. (TSL) on Wednesday reported third-quarter net income of $27.1 million, after reporting a loss in the same period a year earlier.
The Changzhou, China-based company said it had profit of 29 cents per share. Earnings, adjusted for non-recurring gains, were 18 cents per share.
The results beat Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of five analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 16 cents per share.
The solar power products maker posted revenue of $741.1 million in the period, missing Street forecasts. Three analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $834.5 million.
Trina Solar shares have dropped slightly more than 6 percent since the beginning of the year. The stock has risen 13 percent in the last 12 months.
