BOTSWANA STOCK EXCHANGE LISTING
Perth-based integrated
energy company Aviva Corporation Limited (ASX:AVA) has expanded its
international presence by today successfully listing on the Botswana Stock Exchange
(BSE).
Aviva joins a growing
list of international resource companies who have obtained a secondary listing
on the BSE.
Aviva Chief Executive
Officer Lindsay Reed said the BSE listing was further evidence of the company’s
ongoing commitment and expansion in Botswana, where it is rapidly
advancing its 1500MW Mmamantswe integrated energy project.
The BSE is the third
largest financial exchange in Africa, with
more than $US5 billion of domestic funds under its management.
“We are pleased to
have completed our successful listing on the Botswana Stock Exchange. We are
continuing to make rapid progress at Mmamantswe and look forward to developing
a significant shareholder base in Botswana which will benefit all
Aviva shareholders,” Mr Reed said.
During the quarter Aviva
completed an orientation drill program at the coal deposit that will fuel the
Mmamantswe energy project . In total, 32 holes have been drilled for
approximately 3,500 metres. The coal intercepts logged support the initial
target of 600 million tonnes.
Aviva expects to announce
a resource estimate for the deposit by the end of the December quarter.
