Uranium Energy Corp Featured in Forbes Magazine
March 31, 2010
Dear Shareholder,
We are pleased to report to you that UEC is featured in an article about the U.S. uranium industry in the April 12th issue of Forbes magazine, now on newsstands. The article addresses the Companys plans for near-term production in the U.S.
The two-page article, written by Forbes energy reporter Jonathan Fahey, is titled Energy & Genius Homegrown Fuel. The reporter starts the article by noting that the U.S. imports nearly all of the uranium that its nuclear reactors use, and that Uranium Energy Corp plans to reduce this dependence by building up major uranium production in this country again.
Every year the nation's 104 nuclear reactors burn through 55 million pounds of uranium to produce electricity, writes Fahey. The article continues, Yet only 3.5 million pounds are mined in the U.S. We're more dependent on foreign uranium than we are on foreign oil, says Amir Adnani, chief executive of Uranium Energy Corp[UEC] aims to make us less dependent. Photos of Uranium Energy Corps Hobson processing plant, plant supervisor Gregory Kroll and Mr. Adnani accompany the article.
