News Release
THREE KIMBERLITE PIPES DISCOVERED AT
MONUMENT PROPERTY, NWT.
September 4, 2008: New Nadina Explorations Limited (the "Company") and partners Chris and Jeanne Jennings (22.11%), and Archon Minerals Ltd (20.4%) announce three kimberlite discoveries during the current exploration program, adding Sparky and Gemini kimberlite pipes in this news release. Trio, Sparky and Gemini increase the number of kimberlite pipes to eleven on the Monument property at Lac de Gras, NWT. The Trio kimberlite (NR August 25, 2008) is located in the north central part of the property. Sparky and Gemini are located in the southern most kimberlite cluster on either side of the previously known DD39 pipe.
The program commenced August 1st with two drills testing numerous land based targets developed from previous geophysical surveys, and delineating and sampling kimberlites already in the inventory. Detailed exploration drilling of a linear magnetic low in the southern part of the property has delineated and sampled three kimberlite pipes: Sparky, DD39 and Gemini, adding a new kimberlite cluster to the property. The new cluster is located 750 meters south of the central cluster or the Blue string of pearls that consists of kimberlites Sonja, Nic, DD17, RIP, Bling and DD17-11. Kimberlite previously drilled in the DD39 area failed to define the shape and size of kimberlite pipes in the area.
Gemini was first intersected in 2007 by drill hole M-02-07 that intersected hypabyssal kimberlite (HK) between 32.7-35.8m. During the current exploration program three BTW Diamond drill holes delineated Gemini to prove that drill hole M-02-07 had grazed the SW side of the pipe. Drill hole
08-24 (Dip -45, Azimuth 018) intersected kimberlite from 48.4 to 89m depth, and perpendicular Diamond drill hole 08-27 (Dip -45, Azimuth 285) intersected kimberlite from 25 to 53.3m depth. A third drill hole 08-29 steepened to -59 intersected kimberlite from 29.4-79.1m. Kimberlite geology includes volcaniclastic and pyroclastic kimberlite, mineralized with 2-4 mm olivine, pyrope and chrome diopside xenocrysts. In excess of 350 kg of whole core was sampled, and has been submitted for microdiamond recovery.
Sparky was first intersected by drill hole M-01-07 (32.8-70.7m). Further drilling with BTW size core on drill hole 08-35 (Dip -45, Azimuth 225) intersected kimberlite from 38.9 to 90.1m depth, and drill hole 08-36 (Dip -45, Azimuth 007) intersected kimberlite from 19.2 to 68m depth. All kimberlite intervals from DD39 and Sparky (whole core) will be submitted for caustic fusion and Diamond recovery.
DD39, located 30m SW of Gemini, was discovered in 1993 by Kennecott Canada Exploration Inc with a single vertical Diamond drill hole (93DD39-01) which cut 107m of kimberlite. Further drilling at DD39 includes BQ drill holes 08-34 (Dip -45, Azimuth 144) which intersected kimberlite from 44.4 to 110.5m depth, and drill hole 08-37 (Dip -60, Azimuth 054) which collared in kimberlite at 19.2m and continued in kimberlite to 96m depth. Kimberlite geology includes kimberlitic mudstones and volcaniclastic kimberlite. Olivine content is up to 20% 2-4 mm xenocrysts, with trace pyrope and chrome diopside xenocrysts. Carbonized wood has also been identified.
