FURTHER HIGH GRADE MANGANESE INTERSECTED AT TABLE HILL
? 1.4m massive manganese intersected 200m west of discovery hole (THD01 - 3.9m @ 47.5% Mn)
? NITON XRF analyser indicates grades up to 55% Mn (assays awaited).
? Drilling is continuing
Further to recent releases on its current manganese drilling programme, AusQuest Limited (ASX: AQD) is pleased to advise that high-grade manganese has been intersected in drill hole THD07, located approximately 200 metres west of previously reported drill-hole THD01 at the MN1 manganese prospect at Table Hill, ~200km east of Newman.
Hole THD07 intersected approximately 1.4 metres of massive manganese mineralisation at a vertical depth of ~300 metres with grades ranging from 21% to 55% Mn (including 0.9m @ ~48% Mn) based on results obtained using a Niton portable XRF analyser (see disclaimer below). Samples are being despatched for analysis.
The current drilling priority is to complete a section line of drill-holes in the vicinity of hole THD01, which intersected 3.9m @ 47.5% Mn, to gain a better understanding of the distribution and controls on the manganese mineralisation before expanding the search across the prospect area.
Drill-hole THD07 was the third hole drilled along the THD01 section and a further 3 or 4 drill-holes are planned before a more comprehensive interpretation of the drill results can be made.
The Board of AusQuest will continue to report results from the 2008 drilling programme at Table Hill as they become available.
