Constellation Energy Launches Natural Gas Offer in Greater Philadelphia, Expanding its Role as an Energy Provider

Leading Energy Experts Join Constellation Energy Event at National Constitution Center to Explore Future of Natural Gas in Pennsylvania

PHILADELPHIA--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Constellation Energy (NYSE:CEG) ushered in its new role as full-service energy provider to Greater Philadelphia businesses by featuring leading energy experts and policymakers at a natural gas seminar Wednesday at National Constitution Center. More than 120 businesses joined prominent speakers such as Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission Chairman Robert Powelson for the evening of spirited energy policy discussion.

The seminar marked Constellation Energy's entry into Pennsylvania as a full-service energy provider of gas, electric and a host of cutting-edge energy services for commercial and industrial customers in the PECO and Philadelphia Gas Works (PGW) territories around Philadelphia.

"We are eager to become the full service provider to Pennsylvania businesses and their energy managers," said Brian Weatherford, regional vice president of sales for Constellation Energy. "We recognize that our customers are increasingly interested in natural gas and are proud to expand our unparalleled service and industry expertise. As evidenced by Wednesday's event, we have great leaders and supporters who recognize the value of the service we provide. We look forward to sharing that value with customers in the PECO and Philadelphia Gas Works territories."

Constellation Energy has been serving thousands of commercial, industrial and governmental customers in Pennsylvania since the onset of electric competition in the state, and in June began offering competitive electric choice to residential customers in the PECO service territory (home.constellation.com).

Constellation launched its natural gas service during a series of seminars led by energy industry experts. Topics included "The Economic and Environmental Impact of Natural Gas in Pennsylvania," with a four-person panel that included Powelson; Patrick Henderson, energy executive to the Governor of Pennsylvania; Mark Holman, partner at Ridge Policy Group and former deputy assistant to President George W. Bush for the Office of Homeland Security; and Lisa Simpkins, vice president of energy policy for Constellation Energy. Attendees learned about the benefits and impacts of natural gas in Pennsylvania and how to manage risk and navigate through a mature market for example, how to consolidate providers into a single point of contact.

Constellation Energy works to ensure energy managers have the tools to manage their energy delivery and budgets. Commercial natural gas customers have access to Constellation Energy's Managed Portfolio Services (MPS) Program, a full-service model that helps meet cost-related objectives and save time; Minimize Volatile Pricing (MVP) Program, which allows customers to take advantage of a proven systematic physical hedging approach that reduces their natural gas price volatility through staggering or dollar cost averaging their purchases; and EnerPro, a comprehensive online energy management tool that provides information about the energy market to assist in the making of energy purchasing decisions.
