2012 FIELD SEASON COMMENCES AT RED LAKE EXTENSION PROPERTY

Tri Origin Exploration Ltd. (TSX-V: TOE) (?Tri Origin? or the ?Company?) is pleased to announce that its 2012 field season has commenced at the 100%-owned Red Lake Extension (?RLX?) property at Red Lake, Ontario. Field crews are on site and it is expected that geotechnical surveying will be completed by August in preparation for diamond drilling.

RLX is now subject to an earn-in option agreement with Osisko Mining Corporation (?Osisko?) which has committed to fund $600,000 of exploration work at the property during the coming year.  Tri Origin entered into an agreement with Osisko in February 2012 to advance its RLX property whereby Osisko has an option to earn a 51% interest in RLX by fully funding a total of $5 million of exploration over a four year period.  Tri Origin will manage the first year program under the guidance of a management committee comprised of representatives from both companies.

The summer field program at RLX will include detailed geological, geophysical and geochemical surveying over a newly-established gridded area at the northwest part of the property to delineate and evaluate targets where earlier work identified sulphide-bearing alteration zones containing anomalous values in gold. Geological work will also be conducted at other prospective areas throughout this large property where previous surveying by the Company has detected gold geochemical anomalies in overburden in association with favourable geophysical responses. The regional work will assist in prioritizing additional target areas where detailed surveying and drilling are warranted. It is expected that a diamond drilling program will be conducted later in 2012.

RLX is a gold exploration project covering an area of 121 square kilometres located at the southeast part of the Red Lake Gold Mining District contiguous with Goldcorp Inc.?s Red Lake Mine property. The highly prolific Red Lake District hosts major operating and past-producing gold mines and has produced over 20 million ounces of gold.

The intent of Tri Origin?s work is to explore for new gold deposits of the Red Lake Mine-type. Results from work conducted to date at the RLX property have been promising and Tri Origin has identified both the extension of the Red Lake Mine structural trend and alteration zones containing anomalous gold within the Balmer volcanic rocks which are similar to those which host the important gold deposits at Red Lake. Prior to Tri Origin?s work, the RLX property was essentially unexplored for gold.

Update on North Abitibi and Sky Lake projects

Following work at RLX, Tri Origin will mobilize its field crew to the North Abitibi and Sky Lake projects. At North Abitibi, located 150 kilometres north of Kirkland Lake, Ontario, the ?Road Gold Zone? and other gold occurrences will be evaluated for follow-up drilling. Work at the Sky Lake project, located 25 kilometres southwest of Pickle Lake, Ontario, will include detailed surface sampling at geophysical anomalies delineated earlier this year and targeted for drilling. A drilling program has been planned for Sky Lake subject to completion of a flow through share financing investigated by the Company during April 2012. Market conditions resulted in a deferral of this financing. Drilling will be delayed until the return of a more suitable financial market in which to complete the contemplated financing. Shareholders will be updated on commencement of work programs at both the North Abitibi and Sky Lake projects.
