TSX-V: AAZ
African Aura Resources Ltd. ("African Aura" or the
"Company", TSX-V: AAZ), an exploration company with iron ore, gold
and uranium exploration activities in sub-Saharan Africa, announces that its
Phase 1 5,000m drilling programme at the Kambele gold prospect, located in the
Company's 100% owned 1,000km2 Batouri licence in eastern Cameroon,
has defined a potentially significant mineralised zone which requires follow-up
drill testing.

Kambele Gold Prospect
Assay results received from four drill holes at the Kambele gold prospect have
intersected a zone of potentially consistent gold mineralisation in the Kambele
III area. KBDD0019b was drilled to a depth of 103.50m and intersected 3.77 g/t
gold over 9m. Hole 19b was drilled from the same location as drillholes 19 and
19A which were reported on November 11 2008 http://www.african-aura.com/s/NewsReleases.asp
and included grades of up to 65.90 g/t Au over 2.67m. Drillhole KBDD0023 was
drilled to a depth of 94.45m and intersected 2.79 g/t Au over 9.00m (Table 1).
This and other drill data from the Kambele III area has been interpreted by the
Company's geologists as a shallow dipping, gold mineralised, granite hosted,
altered and brecciated zone with associated quartz veining. The zone runs
parallel to the main 3.5km long, northeast trending axis of artisanal workings
and the primary soil and geophysical anomalies. The surface expression of
mineralisation in the Kambele III area is approximately 1,400m long by 800m
wide as defined by extensive artisanal hard rock gold workings, a gold in soil
contour above 250ppb Au and a potassic alteration envelope as indicated by a
geophysical survey which was completed in 2007. The spread of artisinal
workings across the dip of the feature and the interpretation of the drill
holes completed to date indicate that the mineralised zone dips to the north
west and continues at depth. The down dip extension will require further drill
testing.
The Company has now assigned both of its in-house owned and operated diamond
drill rigs to better define the potential of the Kambele III area prior to
drill testing the remainder of the 3.5km long Kambele prospect. An initial
programme of at least 30 drill holes across 5 fences is now planned with the
objective of systematically testing the immediate Kambele III zone. Subject to
positive results, the data will be incorporated into an initial resource
estimate.

John Gray, Chief Executive Officer, commented:
"The latest assay results from drilling at Kambele III are very
encouraging as they suggest the presence of a consistent shallow dipping zone
of gold mineralisation along a potentially significant strike. The drilling
programme to date has confirmed that the Kambele prospect hosts a significant
gold system, with high grade stockwork veins in combination with consistent
gold mineralisation across broader zones. The Kambele III portion of the
Kambele Gold Prospect is now the immediate focus of the current drilling
programme, with the objective of defining an initial resource estimate. It is
important to note that the Kambele III area represents just one portion of the
Kambele Gold Prospect, which extends for at least 3.5km along strike and with a
potential width of over 400m. I look forward to updating shareholders with
further drilling results from Kambele III in due course."
