Shades of Alfred Hitchcock! I have just enjoyed one of those thought exercises where I take a page out of John Nash's life and run with a concept until it drops from sheer exhaustion. And although I do not have anything even remotely resembling 'a beautiful mind', allow me to share with you conclusions that must be taken as pure pastiche - because the alternative would too ominous to consider. As to precedent, I claim sanctuary under the same carnival tent erected with malevolent ingenuity by the slapstick Keynesians, who also conceived the farce of the trillion-dollar coin. 

After reviewing the sheer weight and volume of the economic and political news, along with the folly of January, I was left with the sneaking suspicion the Keynesian establishment may have resorted to mean trickeries and deliberately rolled out a MacGuffin when it was announced,"Gross domestic product-the broadest measure of goods and services churned out by the economy-fell at a 0.1% annual rate in the fourth quarter of 2012, according to the government's initial estimate out Wednesday." More
