News Release
SIX KIMBERLITE PIPES SAMPLED FOR 2.2 TONNESAT MONUMENT PROPERTY, NWT.
September 22, 2008: New Nadina Explorations Limited (the "Company") and partners Chris and Jeanne Jennings (22.11%), and Archon Minerals Ltd (20.4%) are pleased to summarize results of the summer drill program completed September 10, 2008 at the Monument diamond project at Lac de Gras. NWT.
Two drill rigs completed 3,465 meters in 38 diamond drill holes (DDH), with 17 holes coring kimberlite. The exploration team discovered three new kimberlite pipes: Trio, Gemini and Sparky and delineated kimberlites Sonja, Genie, and DD39 pipes. Whole core kimberlite samples weighed in total 2,206.5 kg, and were submitted to Microlithics Laboratories Inc. of Thunder Bay for caustic fusion dissolution. I & M Morrison Geological Services Ltd. will measure and describe all diamonds recovered. Processing has already commenced and results will be reported as available.
From the 2.2 Tonnes, 1,032.2 kg of kimberlite was collected from the Trio kimberlite pipe, from two previously reported holes and 115 meters of HQ drill hole 08-46, cored to a vertical depth of 122 meters.
An additional 195.2 kg was collected from the Sonja kimberlite pipe. BTW delineation drilling intercepted kimberlite in DDH 08-41 from 19.9 to 54.4 meters and hole 08-45 from 25.6 to 58.8 meters. These drill holes, collared from the same setup inclined at -45 and -59 degrees, 315 Azimuth, are 52 to an earlier drill hole that returned 50 microdiamonds from 80 kg. kimberlite. (October 2, 2006 NR)
Delineation diamond drilling at kimberlite pipe Genie, included three BQ diamond drill holes with kimberlite intercepts as follows: DDH 08-10 (Azimuth 327, dip -45) 10.9 to 17.0 and 27.6 to 43 m; DDH 08-42 (Azimuth 243, dip -45 ) from 12.1 to 26.8m; and DDH 08- 43 (Azimuth 243, Dip -65 ) from 20.4 to 34.1m. Drill holes 42 and 43 were drilled from the same drill setup. A total of 122.1 kg of kimberlite was submitted for caustic fusion.
Remaining whole core kimberlite samples totaled 296.3 kg from Sparky, 351.8 kg from Gemini, and 208.9 kg from DD39. Drill intercepts from Sparky, Gemini and DD39 were reported September 4, 2008. The Sparky kimberlite includes three facies of kimberlite: hypabyssal (HK), pyroclastic (PK) and reworked volcaniclastic kimberlite (RVK) in equal amounts. Coarse to medium grained olivine and common to trace amounts of pyrope garnet and chrome diopside are present in all kimberlite facies. Magnetic susceptibility varies between kimberlite units with HK moderate to high, PK moderate, and RVK low.
Management is encouraged with the new discoveries this program and anticipates further success with the testing of winter targets slated for the spring program.
