TRIO KIMBERLITE DISCOVERED AT MONUMENT PROPERTY, NWT.
August 21, 2008: New Nadina Explorations Limited (the "Company") and partners Chris and Jeanne Jennings (22.11%), and Archon Minerals Ltd (20.4%) are pleased to report a new kimberlite discovery at its Monument property at Lac de Gras, NWT. The program commenced August 1st with two drills testing numerous land based targets developed from previous geophysical surveys.
The first new kimberlite pipe this program has been named TRIO, and was discovered with inclined (-45) diamond drill holes 2008-12-2002 (42-59.5m) and 2008-13-2002 (27.8-59.5m) which tested a prominent magnetic low geophysical anomaly. Trio is centrally located near the northern property boundary, 14 meters ENE of previously known DD2002, a kimberlite dike discovered in 1999 by Kennecott Canada Exploration Inc. in hole 99-DD2002-1 (56.8-60.2m). That kimberlite intersect (DD2002) returned six microdiamonds (5 in 0.212mm sieve, 1 in 0.106 mm sieve).
Trio is a dark grey, coarse pyroclastic kimberlite with 3-6 mm olivine xenocrysts and abundant 2-4 mm pyrope garnet with kelyphite rims. Accretionary lapilli forming on olivine xenocrysts are common, and up to 10% black cognate xenoliths of precursor hypabyssal kimberlite are also present. The HK facies has 10% 1-3 mm olivine in a black aphyric matrix. Kimberlite from Trio will be submitted to Microlithics Laboratories Inc., in Thunder Bay, Ontario for microdiamond recovery. Pictures will be posted on the company's website.
Delineation drilling of kimberlite DD17 has resulted in a 15% increase to the kimberlite's size. Diamond drill hole 2008-21-DD17, reached the contact of kimberlite DD17 at 65.2 meters, which moved the contact 17 meters west, increasing the kimberlite's surface area from 0.93 hectares (ha) to 1.1 ha.
The joint venture will test a record number of targets this summer, and delineate and resample known kimberlites. The current drill program is scheduled for completion on September 10th.
The Monument Program is supervised by Mr. K. R. Kivi, P.Geol., a Qualified Person as defined by National Instrument 43-101. Mr. Kivi reviewed the content of this news release.
